a visit from our governor

September 25, 2021 - Historic Onancock School was happy to welcome Governor Ralph Northam, Class of 1977, back to Onancock for our fall celebration and ribbon cutting on September 25, 2021.

The governor toured the building, met with many of our residents in their studios and mingled with the many citizens on hand for the festivities. Accomack Supervisor Ron Wolff introduced Gov. Northam, who reminisced about growing up in Onancock and passed on his compliments to the current Board of Directors for the wonderful direction being taken to continue improvements and becoming a vital community center to serve the shore. Following, there were three ribbon cuttings to celebrate - the new Loveworks, the newly installed ADA lift, and the recently completed playground. Fun, games, food trucks, music and conversation was enjoyed by all.
