Historic Onancock School is truly a gem on 13 acres of open green space in the heart of Onancock. We offer “a space for all” that is open from dawn to dusk daily. A playground, large fields for pick-up soccer, frisbee, dog walks or flying a kite. Stroll a native plant nature trail winding along Onancock Creek that is maintained by the Eastern Shore of Virginia Master Naturalists and local volunteers where you can stop on the observation deck to look out for the abundant resident birdlife. Bring a picnic and dine alfresco under the pines or as the kids play. Enroll the kids in the Spring or fall soccer leagues or the summer camp to hone the skills and experience sportsmanship life skills. Enjoy the thrill of the occasional winter snowstorm that brings a school day off and a fun day spent on ‘Mt. Onancock’ for sledding delight.
