Mark Belknap grew up on the rivers of the Chesapeake Bay and has been an outdoorsman since boyhood. His early interests led him to degrees in Wildlife Management and Forestry, which influence his artwork today. His functional birds have won awards and been on display in the Ward Museum and the Ward World Championship competitions. His birds are equally at home on the mantle or in the marsh and on the water, doing what they were created to do.
As an adult, Mark studied blacksmithing and his studio shop carries functional hand-forged items as well. His Chesapeake oyster knives are not to be missed. Mark has been awarded the designation of Professional Juried Virginia Artisan.

I also worked over 35 years in Graphics in the Printing and Packaging Industry. After retirement from the corporate GRAPHICS world, I’m finally ending my long hiatus and will be returning to my FINE ART roots.
I’ve always managed to have a photographic DIGITAL and DESIGN studio using my large format printer to print my own Giclée prints in a “clean” controlled temperature environment; however, I was always in need of a “dirty” studio to create my traditional Pastel Portraits and Oil paintings.
